Arrive Sunday, August 19th, return home Thursday August 23rd

Day 1:  Arrive

3pm-ish, take a swim in the river, relax, make friends, then unwind with a vinyasa yoga class before a delicious dinner of Thai Curry (Red Snapper or Veg) cooked by your chefs (moi et Dana).

Day 2: On the Water Day

Sleep in, then rise for a morning yoga class followed by breakfast, coffee, and smoothies. Depart to the nearby Shenandoah Outfitters for a day on the water (choose between kayaking, canoeing, tubing, rafting with anywhere from an easy 3 mile float to 11 mile adventure) or stay back at the cabin and relax.

Picnic lunch. For dinner we'll have a feast (Meatball or Meatless Marinara Monday with Green Goddess salad and the infamous grape crostini :))

Day 3: Devils Stairs Hike

Rise and eat a hearty breakfast, then carpool to the Devil Stairs trailhead for a challenging yet do-able 6 mile (3-4 hour) hike or stay at the cabin and relax. Great views, commune with nautre, waterfalls, stairs, spooky graveyard, bonding with new friends, burning calories. Picnic lunch on the trail. Return to a feast, it's TACO TUESDAY! (veg, vegan available). Perhaps some restorative yoga if anyone isn't in the hot tub.

Day 4: Tune in/ Wine Down Wednesday

Sleep in. Breakfast. Relax.

A gong sound bath & relaxing somatic yoga with David Martin and Emily,

a Cacao Ceremony with Jen Lyons, lunch and later a special wine tasting class in the afternoon with Emily ;) . This day will be low key and un-rushed. Take the time to let nature soak in, enjoy peace of mind, and connect, but if you want to move and groove Dana will offer private SUP (stand-up paddle lessons) and of course you can get on the water anytime.

Day 5: GTFO

Haha just kidding, you can take your time. We'll sleep in, rise to a delicious breakfast, then and close with a meditation and good-bye ceremony. Pack up and head out around 11am.

"... thank you for an incredible experience last weekend in the heart of the Virginia wilderness. The yoga was wonderful. More importantly the energy of the weekend was phenomenal. The hike into the Shenandoah was AWESOME! This was followed the next day by an equally incredible day of wineries, music and unity (not to mention the outrageous karaoke). The cabin was the best! A luxurious 30 person cabin in the middle of nowhere... YES!!! Oh and the male to female ratio was also perfect... I am looking forward to seeing what you can do in the fall for an encore. Thanks again for everything!" - Jeremy

Your Retreat Hosts

Emily Lodge:

Maybe I'm crazy but I love creating trips, retreats, adventures. Not just because I love to travel but also because I love being a part of the friendships that form. When you bring a group of like-minded people together there is this amazing transformation that occurs; over dinner, in conversation, in between breaths and poses, out on the trail, and around the fire.

I come from a long line of Southern women who show their love through cooking, and I am happy to continue that tradition! I also went to culinary school in Switzerland (concentration in pastry) so I have some abilities to cook for a crowd. I will also be teaching some of the yoga classes, the somatic yoga, and will be around helping everything run smoothly!

Dana Wiedel:

As a kid we never went to fancy resorts. Instead we spent vacations camping and hiking in every state on the east coast. These days you can still find me living a life outdoors. I am an outdoor instructor for REI, co founder of Everyone Connect Outside, and Yoga Manager/Teacher at Earth Treks Climbing Gym. In my professional life I get people stoked on a life outside! I am a hiking guide and teach SUP, yoga, and biking. When I'm not working you can find me exploring by paddle and foot, throwing clay (a new favorite!), drinking too much coffee, bouldering inside and out, talking life with good company, doing yoga, and most importantly ... taking it easy. I hope to inspire people from all walks of life to connect with nature and embrace the freedom of the great outdoors. I'll be teaching some of the yoga classes and will offer personal SUP lessons during this week!
